Pastor Laswell came to the training in Enukweni, about 35 KM north of Mzuzu, our DCI Team’s home base. He is pastor of an African International Church, a church without the Gospel and without the Bible. There are many such churches in Malawi. Witchcraft and other unbiblical things are practiced there, it is not a Christian Church. Three of these pastors were saved during this training as they heard the Good News. With pastor Laswell the message went deep. he understood the implications of being lost. In this short clip he talks about his need to get back to his church to tell them the Good News. You will hear laughter at the end of the video, but think about what he says about people who don’t know Jesus!

The Team went on a follow-up visit a few days after the training finished and we had returned home to Canada again. They found Laswell training a group of church leaders and telling them the things he had learned. As the Gospel was shared with this group of 7 all believed on the Lord Jesus and were saved. Laswell’s church is no longer meeting in darkness, the glorious light of the Gospel is being shone in the hearts of his congregation. We hear about people being saved there. Praise the Lord!!

Hello friends of Malawi: July 23, 201
It’s been a busy time in Malawi with much happening in the villages. Many lives have been touched with the gospel, people are changed and life groups and churches are multiplying. I will let our team and the trained leaders speak for themselves.

From Ezondweni
“The most interesting thing is that Martin Sakala has opened a church branch (this is how the Malawians call a new church planted by the mother church, ed.) under Presbyterian church out of a life group started at this place. Chaholi life group is a fast growing life group and the presbytery leaders decided to have it as a church but the life group is still growing and multiplying. And in many places like Chinyera, Vongo, Kasindi, Kasito and Emsizini, in all these places it has happened that church branches have been opened out of DCI teachings and they are called Messiah Church. It is a local church but due to DCI teachings they are able to teach the gospel within their churches and they are practising emersion baptism. This is something very encouraging – seeing a local church start teaching the gospel by the help of DCI teachings. I enjoyed the trip visiting Ezondweni, and they are asking if we can visit them again.”

“The leaders were happy that we went for the fourth trainings, and they commented that the trainings have been so helpful for the growth of their churches and a lot of people are very excited that now they are able to understand the bible because they have been given the basic knowledge of their Christianity as well as the availability of the bible with them.”

“Monica Nyambose said that a lot of people are so thankful because of the bibles for in the past when they had no bibles they could go to church and receive the message but some of the scriptures were somehow twisted by the one who was sharing the message and we are discovering that now as we are able to read for our self.”

Wherever and whenever our teams goes to train leaders, we provide lunch. Here is what is said regarding that:

“During the closing remarks the leaders said they are happy because each meeting they are being well taken care of, in terms of the teachings that is spiritually, and physically there is the provision of food to them (lunch). They added by saying that they don’t take it for granted because they know for sure that, had it been that they needed to contribute food, it would have been a challenge and some leaders could not attend the trainings and for this reason they said they are very grateful and thankful.”

“Steria Nyambose said that DCI teachings have helped me a lot, and that has also contributed a lot in soul winning. A lot of people are coming to Christ through these DCI teachings, and they are testifying that the N. T Bibles are very good because their faith has grown due to the exposure to the word of God.”

“Evans Nyirongo said that many people are very happy because of the gift of the bibles, they are happy because on their own they cannot afford to buy their own bible because they do not have enough income to have one.”
Gracious David Singinie
John (our team leader) and Maureen Singinie have had a baby boy: Gracious David Singinie. All are doing well and adjusting to being a family with a baby.
They are so thankful for all the support our friends have given and the gifts that were sent in the container.
